Please note: The delivery times shown above are ESTIMATES and include both estimated order processing time at our studio as well as in-transit time. International shipments are subject to customs delays in the customer's home country. These delays are beyond our control and are not included in the delivery estimates shown. Furthermore, any taxes or duties assessed by customs are the responsibility of the recipient. "Days" are "business days" and do not include weekends or holidays.
Insurance ~ All shipments are insured with the exception of any country or area for which shipping insurance is not available. We use a private shipping insurance company. Buyers in countries for which we cannot provide insurance may shop at their own risk, as we cannot guarantee delivery.
Shipping insurance is not available for shipments to the following countries, so shipments to them cannot be guaranteed: Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Bangladesh, Barbados, Benin, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Burma, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central Africa Republic, Cha, Congo, Dibouti, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Malaysia, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Myanmar, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Romania, Rwanda, Senegal Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Yemen.
In addition, United States law prohibits us from shipping to the following countries: Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Syria and Yugoslavia.
The required customs declaration will be attached to all international shipments. The contents will be labeled as "merchandise" and will be valued according to the product total exclusive of shipping charges. Please do not ask us to undervalue or mis-represent the contents as this is a violation of US law as well as the laws of other countries and to do so would subject us to the risk of prosecution, fines and penalties.
LOST PACKAGES ~ On very rare occasions, due to no fault on our part, packages never arrive at their destination. In such instances, we will reship your order after a period of time has elapsed (21 days for in-US shipments, 45 days for most International shipments, 60 days for Italy and some other countries) but we will require you to sign, date and return a letter or fax (an email will not suffice as a valid signature is required) after the required time has passed confirming that your package indeed was never received. We require this so that we can be reimbursed by our insurance company. If we do not receive this signed confirmation back from you, we must charge you for the replacement shipment.
3. Sales Tax ~ We are required to charge sales tax on all shipments made to any address within the State of California. The sales tax is based on the merchandise total. Qualified resellers must complete the affadavit required by the California State Board of Equalization in order to have the sales tax waived.
4. Returns ~ We generally have a "no return" policy. Exceptions to this policy include any time we ship the incorrect item and any time an item is defective. In any case in which we accept a return, we will advise the customer of the process. Any merchandise returned must be in exactly the same condition as when we sent it to qualify for any adjustment. Any refund for a return will be exclusive of shipping charges.
We want our customers to be happy with their purchase, and we ask customers to ask questions and request samples for color matching or other purposes whenever needed. We are happy to answer your questions and will provide samples at a nominal cost for the sample itself and shipping. This way, it is our hope that you will receive the right product the first time!
5. Privacy ~ We will NEVER provide any customer information to any other party for any reason. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy. Your privacy is respected at Mimi's Gems! We will not sell our customer list to other merchants, publications, list brokers or other marketing information.
Documentation of sales which contain private information of our customers will be retained for the time required by law by the various taxing authorities with which we are required to comply. At the conclusion of that period, all such records will be destroyed.
6. SPAM ~ No one likes SPAM email. We gets lots of SPAM messages every day. We DO NOT send SPAM.
We will send occasional newsletters and we occasionally need to be able to contact our customers via email regarding an order. If your email is being filtered for SPAM, and you order from us or contact us via email, PLEASE put us on your contact list. Some SPAM filters appear to filter out any business correspondence and do not give the option to the recipient to review what is being filtered out. In such cases, the recipient will never even know the email was sent to them.
So PLEASE notify your SPAM filter to accept messages coming from mimi@mimisgems.com We will only contact you if you have asked to be on our mailing list or have placed an order or contacted us for some reason. We have NEVER sent SPAM and we never will.
If you order from us or request our newsletter, please, out of courtesy to us, do not mark our emails to you as SPAM. We send a receipt/order confirmation for every order and we send a notice at shipment. These emails are for your information. Please do not mark them as SPAM as this causes unnecessary problems. If you sign up for our newsletter, and then later decide you do not want to receive it, please notify us and we will take you off our list and we will do so immediately.

If you receive an email from any other similar email address (such as "fred@mimisgems.com") we did not send it and we take no responsibility for any other similar email address using our domain sent to anyone. If you receive an email from another email address using MimisGems.com as the domain, it did not come from us and we recommend that you delete it. This notice absolves Mimi's Gems of any and all claims relating to any variant use of our domain by any person engaging in this sort of phishing not affiliated with our company.
7. Backorders ~ We make every attempt to keep our products in stock, but there are occasional inventory and sourcing shortages. If we are unable to ship your entire order we will contact you to let you know the situation. You can then choose to either have us ship a partial order and ship the rest when available, cancel the order, or make other arrangements as determined at that time. All items are subject to prior sale.
8. Product Descriptions/Identifications ~ We attempt to describe and picture our products as well as possible and are happy to answer questions. Customers should be aware that different computer monitors may show colors slightly differently. Also different batches of the same "color" bead may produce color variations. Please contact us if a precise color match is needed and we will be happy to help. We cannot make adjustments for bead color matching AFTER shipment.
We can positively guarantee that any product identified as a particular brand is absolutely that brand, and not a "knock off" or a fake. We purchase our products only from reputable distributors and manufacturers. As an example, Swarovski® converted their packaging to a sealed package in an effort to combat the serious problems with "fake" Swarovski products being sold as genuine ones. These sealed packages are now the only Swarovski® products we will purchase in order to ensure that our customers receive genuine Swarovski® products. BEWARE OF LOW PRICED KNOCK OFFS!! Likewise, our other products are similarly identified as accurately as possible and we are happy to answer questions about the source, content or manufacturing process of any product to the best of our ability.
We sell quality products that can be expected to give good service under normal conditions. However, there is no warranty expressed or implied for products used in non-traditional ways. Mimi's Gems will guarantee that the customer will receive a product in good condition and that it will give good service under normal conditions, but we cannot take responsibility for design experiments of our customers and no refunds or credits will be given for design errors or experiments that do not result in a satisfactory outcome.
9. Frequent Buyer Rewards ~ Every purchase at Mimi’s Gems adds to your frequent buyer “account” once you register for an account. Once you purchase $200 from our website (in one or more shopping trips) you will be eligible for a 10% “frequent buyer reward” ($20) off your next purchase. You can use your discount at any time for any product!
Here’s how to participate in the reward program:
- Register as a customer at on our website. Registration sets you up with a customer account and enables you to participate in frequent buyer rewards as well as other benefits such as saving your name and shipping address on the system, saving you time when you check out. (Please note: Registration does not save credit card information.) Registration requires you to select a unique name and password. If you have already registered & have your name and password, you’re all set! If you haven’t registered yet, it’s easy to do! Having a registered account is the only way the system can keep track of your reward total.
- Each time you shop, be sure to use your registered name and password. Then the amount of your purchase will be recorded in your reward account.

10. Gift Wrapping ~ Gift Wrapping service is available on finished jewelry pieces for an additional charge of $5. This option is available during checkout. Priority Mail shipping is required to ensure that both the product and the gift wrapped box arrive in the best condition.
11. Catalog ~ Our website is our only catalog. We do not have a printed catalog.
