Here's another novel use of the multi-strand or pearl shortener clasp, completely different from the twisted bead necklace ~
 an Interchangeable Necklace!

The turquoise chips were strung as usual, each strand slightly longer than the last, but instead of attaching a clasp, the ends can be finished with split rings or soldered jump rings. Then when you wear the necklace, you can choose to use 1, 2 or 3 strands, whichever you prefer.
You can also use strands of other beads you have finished the same way.

Easy interchangeability = instant new necklace!
